Happiness is…
I was there at COMEX 2009 too, with MUM and SC re-contracting my SINGNET plan, 2 more days to collecting the laptop. We had a nice lunch at Thai Express and we left the place with a round tummy.

Then it was the happening National Junior Robotics Competition. One of the team gotten into finals and even won second in national robotics. I can’t express out my happiness and joy with words, even till now when i think of this i’ll smile to myself.

In the midst of all the BIG and SMALL events, i took some time out to date with my superman.

And i clean my room after procrastinating for DAYS and DAYS. Ever since SOT till now, my room has been in a mess from all the school work and teaching work. Now i’ve finally clear off everything. I love the sparkling clean and dust free room.
Will be Back soon!
Ok i’ve repented! So sorry for going missing for a while.
I’m coming back real soon after fixing the spoil camera cables.
So many things have happened and i’ve yet to have time to sit down to properly blog about them.
Sometimes when too many things happened at a go, going all your ways, it can get you a little lost ya.
Nevertheless, thank God for everything that has taken place, more to come

Happenings of September
Last Thursday, mummy treated me and SC for an international buffet before passing both of us a coupon to exchange for 4 movie tickets and 2 hours of WII for just $4.00. Needless say, we had a fun time that night with endless food and games.

On Monday and Tuesday was NJRC Day one and two for Primary school category. All the schools did very well, and i’m so proud of one of the team who got into the finals, currently they are NO 9 in SINGAPORE. I’m really very proud of them and i think they really did their best(and that’s the most important part). I’m cheering them on this Saturday for their finals!

Yesterday was a beautiful date, 09.09.09. SC had a stay out so we decided to spend the relaxing afternoon together by doing some shopping and high-tea. SC gotten me a wallet too, the old one was already 4 years old and i think SC starts to look down on it because it’s a little old and weary.

The special date ended with me meeting my wifey for Pilate class(which i start to really enjoy very much) and crashing into Cheryl’s connect group for dinner.
September is a happening month, Saturday is NJRC final, next Wednesday is our zone overnight prayer meeting and many more stuff
Skincare Routine
I thought it will be fun to share what beauty products i’m using, even thou my skin ain’t that fantastic, but for a sensitive skin girl who used to have a lot of breakouts and pimples, the products work for me. However, i can’t guarantee that it works for you even thou they do work for me
I included the price and when you can get it at a much cheaper price, i know it sounds Auntie but who don’t love discount especially when i’m just a part-time working!
So let’s do it step by step!
1. Cleansing – This is a very important and most basic step of a skincare routine, it’s the step whereby all the dirt and left over makeup will be wash off your face.

Item Name: Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash
Review:I love the feeling after washing it especially with the apricot bites in it that is used to remove dead skin.
Price: $20.90, however during their sales, i gotten it at $12.90 per tube(i gotten 3 tubes all at once)

Item Name: ESSENTIAL LIQUID WASH
Review: This is another of my favourite, sometimes i do alternate to this when i’m lazy to use my Exfoliating Wash to wash my face.
Price: $9.90, usually i get mine during John Little Sales at 40% off.
2. Toner – I used to ignore this step till i started using it and see how it controls my oiliness.

Item Name: Seaweed Clarifying Toner
Review: This is a MUST HAVE for me, it really controls my oily skin and helps to tighten pores a little after pro-long use. The best thing is this is alcohol free toner.
Price: $22.90 for 200ml, at Bodyshop atrium sales, you can get a small bottle of 50ml at $2.00, if you do your mathematics, 200ml cost $8.00 only.
3. Moisturizer – This is another step not to be miss even if you have oily skin. If you do not supply your skin with enough moisture, it’ll produce oil to moist your skin in the end causing your skin to be more oily.

Item Name: Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
Review: This is quite ok only, i brought it because the seaweed range toner is really good, i guess after finishing this, i won’t use it again.
Price: $27.90, gotten it at $22.70 using the 20% off voucher that i gotten from Bodyshop

Item Name: Deep Hydrating Gel
Review: My all time favourite! This hydrating gel works perfect, at least for me. My skin used to be peeling all the time because of the dryness and that fact that i’m always in air con place, after using this, it cures all the peeling. After 2 minutes of applying, it gets absorb into the skin quickly.
Price: $22.90, usually i get it at John Little sales at 40% off too.
4. Exfoliating – Even thou my cleanser has this function, i still use an exfoliate cream to get rid of dead skin before pampering my skin with mask.

Item Name: METAVOLTAGE CREAM
Review: My skin feels so clean and clear after using this, i love the fact that all it takes is 2 minutes to leave on, 1 minute to rub it off and tada, clear skin.
Price: $16.90, as usual i always get it at 40% off at John Little.
5. Sunblock – Singapore is a summer island where the sun is always up hanging in the sky. It’s a must to protect our skin especially the tender skin against the sun ray.

Item Name: True White Day Protector
Review: Nothing much to rave about, but i love how it fits into my routine, runs smoothly and blends into my skin.
Price: $12.90, 40% off
6. Mask – it’s a must to nurture our skin, especially when mine is very bad. Masking often does improve skin condition very much.

Item Name: Bird Nest Mask
Review: After hearing so much rave about it on forum, i’ve decided to get a box to try and VIOLA, it’s one of my favourite now. The next day after you used it, your skin becomes brighter and less oily.
Price: $19.90 for a box of 6, i always get mine during Watson sales at only $9.90.

Item Name: Hokkaido – Anti Oil
Review: This leaves skin feeling less oily, if i use this regularly, it does controls my oily skin a lot.

Item Name: Hokkaido Sakura
Review: Loves the nice smell of it, brightens skin a little. Does help in smoothing pimples and red marks.

Item Name: Dainty Design Aloe
Review: This is good at smoothing redness of face.
I hope this review does help somebody out there, maybe when i’m more free i’ll do a makeup post too.

The Last Lecture – Part 1 (Leadership)
I’m picking up the reading habit again, all along i’ve always believe knowledge is power
Anyway, the current book i’m on is THE LAST LECTURE. This book is written by a computer science professor who discovered that he has last stage liver cancer. He was invited to give his last lecture of his life, a columnist for wall street journal went for his last lecture and decided to wrote on this book which ended up as a title that is familiar among people who reads.
I’m only one-third into this book and i’ve already learnt a lot. I love some quotes that his dad teaches him like “Never make a decision until you have too”. But the sentence that kept me thinking is this “Just because you’re in the driver’s seat doesn’t mean you have to run people over”.
I don’t know how you understand this, but the context of this sentence in the book talks about leadership position and how we should play fair at it. Many times, people in leadership position is like a driver. In a sense they are driving people to their destiny, at least that’s the least a leader should fulfill. But many times, the driver is in the car with another group of people while we are crossing from one street to another street.
At times, we do make wrong decision, or ended up being careless and dashing over the street, how will the driver react? The driver can either:
1. Run you over
2. HONK at you loudly which makes you jump
3. Sound a gentle honk to alert you that a car is coming
If you are a leader, your members made some mistakes, how did you actually handle it?
There are actually many ways, just like the driver example that the author gave, play fair. Of course not everybody knows how to sound the honk gently enough to give somebody an alert, but it takes practice before you know the right strength and force to use to make a gentle honk.
I’ve seen quite a few drivers running over the people just because they are the driver, while i’ve seen many nice drivers who sounded the honk at the right force and right pressure, ensuring they alert the careless member while not making them jump.
As a leader, it’s important to constantly check what is your motive behind every action you do, even in class as a teacher, my scoldings have to be objective and not emotional. You can’t just shout and scold because your own emotion is out of control.
It takes patience, practice, love and many other ingredient before you can be a leader who really do action (3.), i’m really thankful that the leader i’m under is somebody who does it, having a great example makes following so much easier.
I don’t know if this entry makes sense to you, at least it enlightens me in a lot of ways concerning leadership.
It’s THURSDAY :)
I guess i really can’t think of anymore title for my blog entries, but yes i’m back to blog frequently again, or rather hope i’ll have the time to do so
Last Wednesday before Pilate class, i headed over to my cousin house to play with Baby Axel the whole afternoon. He’s beginning to recognize people so it took him a while to recognize GUGU. I read books after books for him too, after i put down a book, he will use his eyes to look at the pile of books behind him as thou telling me “GUGU can i have more story telling?”. The next time i visit him, he should be able to move around the place a little instead of just sitting down.

The previous Sunday was a big event for us, especially the 4 guys who are getting baptized. I met up with SC, had a breakfast before heading to Jurong service and baptism service. The photos below are taken by my handphone, i’ve forgotten to charge my camera on this IMPORTANT occasion!!!

Yesterday after work, i don’t feel like heading home so early so i made a call to love to see if she’s free(and don’t wish to head home early too!). It was an impromptu decision to meet up but we had so much fun having dinner together and shopping along bugis street and haji lane.

And yes, like my title reads, it’s Thursday. It doesn’t really help that tomorrow is Friday since i had work to do on Saturday too. But at least i get to meet SC later
Enjoy your mid-week

How is life now?
On a random Tuesday night, SC and i spent some personal time together, it’s been a long long time since we did some dating
The first stop for that night was a nice teppanyaki dinner at Sakae Sushi. It’s been a long time since i went out without makeup too!

We went to get a pair of pants for my Pilate class, we headed over to supermarket to grab some tibits before rushing into the cinema. Watching movie at late night is very fun, especially when it’s a GHOST movie(even thou it’s not that scary). I’m yearning for more of such dates!
The next day was a mini gathering with some of the SOT student specially for Shujuan before she head back to Taiwan.

I’m very much missing her and the other overseas students. I wander if we have a chance to reunite as team 23.
One of the days was spent on catching up with Missy Tay in KBOX.

We had a good chat over SUBWAY and during the singing session. It’s been so long since i do catchup with friends, more to come
———————————————————
Life’s been good ever since SOT is over. I’ve been wanting to go China for mission and Taiwan for holiday, but ended up i’m going neither because of various reason. I’m quitting my teaching job too, after the national competition is over. Then it’ll be 2 months of break before time to find a full time job. There’s many things that i’m planning to do, i hope i’ll be able to have the finances to sustain my WANT-TO-DO list and expenses during this 2 months of break.
Cleaning spider web
I’m back to clean some spider web on this blog, believe me it’s not heading towards dead blog, but just that i’m too too busy! There’s simply too many things and photos for me to sort out, so i decided to do them entry by entry.
3 weeks ago on 7th August, we had our graduation dinner. Before the dinner, we attended a makeup class by Cindy, i’ve stolen some tricks from her that really works well. Shujuan and i left towards the end to her place for some practical makeup.
We rushed to church to catch the bus for our graduation dinner and the fun began even before we reached the place. Too many photos for me to sort out, so i picked really a few to make into one. Sorry if there ain’t any caption, just enjoy the photos taken

On our way to church

Everybody’s dressed up for the dinner

On the way!

With cell group people and Junrong

Taiwanese students!

4 different friends from 4 different countries.

The next day was our rehearsal for our graduation service, there was a mixed feeling at the rehearsal. A part of us was feeling excited about graduating but another part of us can’t bear to leave SOT.

On the MONDAY after national day, team 23 had a gathering at one of the student’s condo. It was a short gathering time but everything was fun, i love Yalan’s condo, nice view and cool windows!

SC brought me out for some dessert before we headed home for a rest

And let me end this short entry with a photo with Pastor Tan. He came to share his revelations and words with us on the last third day of school, one of the things i missed about SOT is Pastor Tan’s teaching.
